I have an image that I edited in Paint. Before I edited the image it was a .jpeg after I edited it all I could save it as was a .bmp.

Is there a way to change a .bmp to either a .jpeg or .gif? I dont have any Graphics editor except the Paint program that comes with Win98.

Thanks
Garold

You need the Gimp (http://www.gimp.org/)

The Gimp is good, but later versions of Paint also allow saving as JPEGs or GIFs using the Save As Type box - control over compression is poor, but it can help.

I've been using Irfanview for the past year, its been working out better than when I used The Gimp.

My advice is to use ReaConverter Pro software from:
http://www.reasoft.com/products/reaconverter/

It is the best one I think.
