Printer Problems

My mom has a Canon S750, which would not print black. She managed to get it working again using Q-Tips and rubbing alcohol, as well as the printer's Deep Cleaning function, but the black printing is getting iffy again.

Anyone have any suggestions? There IS a new black cartridge in the printer.

I'm sorry I can't help, but a small office I used to work in had a similar problem with exactly the same printer. I remember them being told the print head had 'burnt out' through using the Deep Cleaning function too many times.

Talking about printers my Lexmark is playing up yet again. I seem to end up getting a new cartidge every 4-5 weeks and its not as though I'm doing a weekly print of "War and Peace" or anything.

Its just annoying that the printer companies now treat them as throw away and cash cows for replacements and print heads.
