Hello,

I already have "CSS Web Site Design" by Eric Meyers and other books, but I am wondering if you know a good CSS book on how to create web pages of DIFFERENT STYLES from scratch?

I prefer ones with pictures and step by step instruction.

Thank you,
Erik Diamond

Not sure what you mean by "different styles" but the books in my sig are all pretty good.

Ray's sig has some of the best books on the subject but I think by "different styles" and "step by step instruction", -are you asking for well-built, all-CSS templates of different designs? Sort of a 'pick one' from a group of equally well-coded designs?
I have seen some sites with FREE downloadable, useable for personal AND commercial use templates that are all-CSS, and validate. Sadly, the majority of free template for use are built with TABLEs, and slice-n-dice DW/FP ilk, and are basically crap.

But if CSS and 'good design' are what you are after, I can find a place or three for you to choose from. I used to start most web creations from a 'template' and go from there. Anymore though, I find it easier to just author my own from the very start. But in the meantime, check out this link:

This site creates a never-before-seen dhtml site that is for the most part, validatable. Only about 1 or every 10 'on-the-fly' designs it throws out there are even worth a longer look, but when you get one that is somewhat nice, you are free to copy the code and change it to your heart's content. and if you mess it up beyond saving, -just go back and get another one! :)
