Situation
Let me start-off by saying that I prefer keeping older browsers handy for programming & testing purposes. For this reason I didn't upgrade my Firefox version.

Then my brother, regardless how many times I told him NOT to upgrade it, thought he'd be clever and upgrade Firefox on HIS Windows User and didn't think it would upgrade the Firefox version on MY Windows user. Well... he thought wrong and is sorry about it.

Now I'm stuck with Firefox2.0 and I have the "Firefox Setup 1.0.7.exe" installer handy.
I want to now downgrade my Firefox version so I can program for 1.0.7 again.

My Question
If I run Firefox Setup 1.0.7.exe to override Firefox2.0 with Firefox1.0.7, do you think Firefox will forget my browser settings, bookmarks, and extensions?
That is my question. Do note that after my brother upgraded Firefox that my bookmarks, browser settings and extensions remained untouched.
However I fear that the Firefox developer team didn't think people would DOWNgrade Firefox and therefore my settings and such will be forgotten...
Do you think that if I DOWNgrade my Firefox version that my settings will be safe?

Don't touch the Firefox 2.0 setup.

Install Firefox 1.0.7 to a separate folder.

Next export the bookmarks etc from Firefox 2.0 and import them into Firefox 1.0.7 in order to get your 1.0.7 back to how you want it.

Thanks for the answer, I'll try that... a 'lil later.

Just to verify,
if I do that and have Firefox in two separate folders, does that mean I will be able to run both Firefox versions at once?

Run as many as you like in separate folders/directory. I have 4 versions available.
FF and Opera users tend to upgrade quickly, why run an old version?
