white space

If you go into a section and click on an image, depending on what browser ur using, you may get a white space before the image on the top and left.
Why is that?
IE 5.2 on macOSX doesnt show white space but
NS 7 does.
Ive researched this but cannot find an answer yet.

The only odd whitespace I can see is on the righthand side of the image.. Where the box isnt complete.

The image is calling for a spacer.gif
