Hi,

I've not posted on these forums for a while!, i've started a small web design company with a couple of other coder/designers.

I've just about finished www.blazingsaddlescycles.co.uk - i'm just waiting for them to add their products to the oscommerce before the site is lunched in the new year.

I'd like some feedback on the overall design of the site, especially the 'high street shop' pages if possible.

Navigation: I suggest using the arrow to denote the page you're on, rather than as a hover effect. (It points to the title, showing that the nav and the page title are the same.)

The banner lacks any sort of style; I'd never guess this was a "bike" forum/resource, based on the banner. (In America, "Blazing Saddles" is a Mel Brooks' cowboy satire.) You have to imagine that people will be coming to your website from all sorts of ways, so you need to have something on each page that indicates what it is about without them having to read the content. The easiest way is to do this with simple graphics.

Good Luck - KDLA

Hi KDLA,

Thanks for looking over the site. Blazing Saddles is also well known in the UK as the Mel Brooks film - i believe it was the inspiration for the name of the bike shop :)

Good point with the arrow - i'll change that. The hover arrow was from the osCommerce skin design for the shop (which isnt yet public) and it works better on there as a hover effect.

Thanks again for the comments.
