Inspired by the incredibly creative, pretentious, weird and sometimes really useful explanations given by this forum's regulars; I propose a game.
Which of us can conjure up the best analogy, simile, metaphor, comparison or related anecdote whilst also contributing the forum?
The rules shall follow thusly:
The entry must be contained in an original post and not edited in retroactively.
The post into which it is entered must make a reasonable effort to assist the original poster.
There shall be no undue thread necromancy for the purposes of this game.
The entry should be in one of the "proper" boards, i.e. not here or any of the other boards under "Etc."
Since this game is just for japes, any amount of entries is permissible, there will be no scoring and no-one shall judge a winner because that would just be a faff.
