First off, happy holidays and sorry if I post in the wrong forum as I have no idea where to post this.

Would it be possible to create a website that automatically updates with a new picture each second ( critical that its a new picture each second ), without the user having to click refresh ( a play icon buttom might be acceptable ). Upon entering the site or clicking the play icon you would also only load a few pics like 4-5 so loading time of the website wouldn't take long, and thereafter automatic load the rest of the pictures while the "dias" show is going on ( the picture sizes won't be bigger than 32kb )

Do all these pictures already exist (like a slide show) or are they being created on the fly (like a web cam or machine monitor)? Just how "critical" is the one second period? I.e. does something explode or someone die if there is a five second delay between a couple of the images? Is this on a LAN or is this coming across the Internet?
