Ok, ok,
I know this sounds really kinda noob and it is too. I've downloaded that phpbb forum stuff and I want to upload it to my web page. But how do I get it to work? I know I have to use MySQL and things like that but can anyone tell me in detail how forums work, and login and administrator stuff, and how to get forums to work?
I really want to get into this.
Any input is appreciated.
I've never set up PHPBB (besides through CPanel, which does it all for you) but I'd guess that you don't need to do much in mySQL. Probably just make a database for it. Then, I'd guess that there are installers. You'd be better off at http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/

Where can i get CPanel then?
It is something that your server must have installed. If I were to move host, whether or not CPanel was installed would be a huge consideration for me...

well most hosts you pay for have CPanel, you should check your hosts' options (usually on their front page, or with a big link going to it) to see if they support it...
edit: lol, we posted at like the same time, hehe...

Yeah yeah.
Just tell me exactly, step by step, how i set up the forum and all those .php files after I've downloaded phpbb.
As I said before, for support on phpBB, go to http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/

Yeah i know i just thought i should ask you web gods if you could let me know, but okay, okay, it's HUMAN to fail so...
Like I said, I've never tried to install phpBB, so I can't give you a step-by-step... The forums I linked to eariler will be able to...
I've used phpbb before. Just go here:
http://phpbb.com/documents.php?mode=install
It will give you step by step instructions. There is a dir when you download the files called "Install". Once you have uploaded your files goto http://www.yoursite.com/yourforumdir/install/install.php and you will have to fill out some input boxes but after that if you don't get any errors you will be all set. Hope that helps you. :D
