How do you get the little icon to show up next to the web page title?

Ok, I did everything that I was supposed to do to get my favicon to display, but it still won't display. I created a favicon.ico file, put it in the web sites root directory, inserted a link in each page's <head>...</head> section, but still no favicon displaying in the browser. Any idea's what I'm doing wrong?

Looks fine to me in FF - what browser are you using?

I'm using IE7 (the latest release). I'm still using frames, though (planning on switching over to non-frames at some point). Could that be the problem? I have the favicon link in every frame. Thanks for your help.

Have you cleared your cache and restarted IE since you put the icon out there? That's required. I don't know that frames would have anything to do with it.

I just tried deleting all temp files, cookies, history, etc., restarted IE7 but still no favicon. Oh well, as long as others are able to see it that's what matters. Strange problem though.

Thanks all for you help!
