I'm looking to create a website with similar capabilities to Facebook (www.facebook.com), from the ground up. I understand this is a huge project and will take a lot of time and money.
I am very experienced with web design and front-end, but when it comes to back-end my knowledge is quite limited.
Do I need to program this site in a programming language? MySQL database? Where do I begin?
