360 degrees view

This may be the wrong place to pose such a question?

I have noticed that several websites offer a 360degrees view of their products e.g a restaurant or showroom.

I imagine this is done using Flash or something similar.

Is it possible without using such Tools?

I have also been told that there is a special camera that can do this??

Any ideas will help enormously.

Maybe you could put a video clip showing a 360 degree view? You probably wouldn't want to do that, but I'm probably the youngest one on the forum...meaning I wouldn't know what you adults prefer in a website...or something...*shuts up*

Well if its a looped video clip then the user cannot controll it, the method dave mentiond seems to be the best. You cold also use quick time or flash to do it though.
