When I open "my documents" folder and attempt to open anything inside my documents turns all white so you see nothing then my desktop icons begin flashing until my documents totally freezes and shuts down. What is happening. I cant even send any files in my documents to a disk because it does this. Also a error about Dr Mortems debugger comes up what is that?I have restored my computer to take it back 5 days earlier and still does it.

Hi, a couple of questions?
What OS are you using? What memory do you have? What is the size of your HD, what anti-virus are you using, do you have a firewall? Lastly, do you regularly clear your temporary files?

OS...Windows XP
Memory...256MB
Hard drive...40GB
Anti virus...nortons and I use ad-aware
Firewall..yes on my computer as well as thru nortons
Do I regualarly clear my temp files...no

I hope I answered these right. Actually last night it didnt do it anymore but I still dont know what would have caused this for almost 2 days. Any suggestions?

Well, it's probably safe to rule out a virus causing your problems. I should also have asked how full your hard drive is but assuming you have plenty of space, there's a couple of things I would try. First thing, clear out all your temporary files and temporary internet files. Secondly defrag your disk. There's a lot of expert conflict on defragging, but my personal belief and experience shows that regular defragging can minimise the problems of slow computers - and even crashing ones.
The next thing, check how much virtual memory you have allocated by XP. If this isn't adequate it can cause some problems. Also, if possible, it would be worth doubling your memory. XP is a hungry OS.

Do you use active desktop and web content in your windows? thumb nails etc, all it takes is a setting that executes embedded code in things like images and video clips as well as that your supposed to be able to embed scrpts into mp3's as you can images like gifs.

Other than that, I point my finger at norton.
