Apologies firstly as this is posted in an old thread elsewhere.
Having been a self taught web developer, HTML frames were a wonderful thing when I discovered them. But with the addition of some Java applets, things are slowing down on loading, and I have decided to look for some frames alternatives.
In essence all I need is to load two Java applets and have the central information change when a link is clicked without reloading the applets.
A friend of mine who does this at uni suggested that there is an alternative similar to frames but "isn't frames"
I am familiar with Iframes, but doubt this is what he meant.
Can anyone suggest a better way of doing this?
The site in question is www.dranoweb.com - feel free to have a look and make some suggestions. I am looking for a balance of loading speed vs ease of use, and would like to keep the same layout/format as my visitors are now familiar with this.
