Woooh... Entry page? No-no... No-one likes a splash page, takes way too long to get to the content = visitors 'back out'

Nice graphics, nice idea.... But, why not have the text on the splash page (if you insist on a splash page) as actually being text... and not an image? You're not going to get that picked up in search engine results.

Don't get me wrong, it is a good idea... But I don't think the site will take off quickly or be all that successful if it's just a standard forum, with not a lot of anything else unfortunately.

I agree with AnotherDesigner. This website doesn't have much to draw me in to participate.

can anybody help with the css on the front page for the navbar to be the same length as the one on the forums?

Suggestions are welcome.

navlist{
width: (same as banner)px;
margin: 0 auto;
}
navlist li{
display:block;
height: (same as navlist)px;
}

add those to the css and should make it look like it does in the forum.
I think

I expected something a lot more visual and creative from a graphic design site.

if I were you, I'd base the website's color palette on the header colors: green and blue. The left side, I would make green, light green. I would make the background outside gray, creating more contrast. The bottom would be dark blue, just like most of the header.

There isn't enough contrast between the characters and the background. Cerulean blue characters over a white background? Black characters over a gray background? It is not exactly nice on the eyes.

You have just as much if not more ads than you do content. Atleast move that ad sitting directly in the main content to the right of the whole container.

Advertisments. You have both of your google ads sitting in the most viewed areas on the page. Do you plan on people actually looking at your content?
