I enjoyed the layout and the images.
Only one small problem.I have DSL internet and your site was very slow to load. I would not want to have Dial-up and visit your site. I am a newbie, but maybe someone can tell you how to get the images to load faster.

Visually, the site is pretty good. I'm not too fond of the mixture of serif and sans-serif fonts. Also, the smaller you go with a serif font, the harder it is to read. Your sizing of the serif font is close to illegible.

One thing that bothers me is that there's no text flow. Sometimes, important text is placed in the tan box, which forces my eye to look back and forth for information. Also, the centered images sort of break the focus on the content. Really, the content should be first and foremost; presentation/decoration should be secondary.
