Hi I really hope someone can help me and I'm sure you can because I don't know a lot about computers. You see I am simply trying to burn a video to a dvd on my laptop but it says that I need to format the DVD. Fair enough I get that but I can't because it says in My Computer "CD Drive (D:)" and when I click it with a blank dvd in there it says that my DVD-RAM isn't connected or I don't have a disk in there.
Great now it doesn't even say that I have a DVD Drive
Could someone please help me thanks

Are you sure you have a DVD drive? Does it say DVD on the front drawer?
Yes, it says:
DVD MULTI Recorder
Compact disc ReWritable
RW DVD + ReWritable

Check its showing up ok in hardware profile? Check inside the ribbons connected properly and the drive jumper is set correctly, maybe try another ribbon? Restart after it says it isnt connected and see if its showing in the bios? Try updating the firmware via the manufactuers site with the correct region and see if this helps?
Try reading cd's/dvd's especially for installs. If the disc is known to work and it shows up with an error like cyclic redundancy then the drive may be starting to fail.
