[RESOLVED] PHPBB error

Hi,
My phpBB was running correctly for months, then started throwing this critical error:

Could not locate valid language pack

The language directory contains the file 'lang_english' and I haven't changed a thing.

Suggestions appreciated.

Is this just happening in your account - can you create a test account and see if the problem occours for this?

SOLVED - (I created a test account and it created OK. I created it in a different directory. What do you think would be the easiest way to correct the original BB. I would hate to lose all of the data. )

I reloaded the language directory and she is running as designed.

I looked at a couple of threads in the phpbb support forum, if this only applies to one user than use phpMyAdmin to browse your users profile information in the database and make the default language english. Have a search of the phpbb support forum.

Hi,

I took your advice on your first post and created an entirely new forum. Since that worked as designed, I copied the new 'language' folder into the existing forum and the old forum is now running correctly. I don't know how the 'language' directory became corrupted, but replacing it with the new directory solved the problem.
