Hi,

Can anyone point me in the direction of a website that has all the images of the icons used on the Win XP platform. When I search for xp icons on google all I get is fancy programs to download that create icon files.

Thanks.

Do you have XP installed right now? If so you should be able to open the file that has them on your pc.

If not just go to a pc with XP and create screen shots of the icons you want.

I have Windows XP installed but all the icons are in either the exe file of the program such as paint and notepad or they are in the "SHELL32.dll".

The problem with taking screen shots of the icons is that because Win XP has its alpha channel the edges of the icons are blended with the background they are currently on so on a different colored background they look sketchy round the edges.

Do a search on Google, they have many programs out there that will extract icons from .exe files and .dll files and such for saving as images. Hope that helps. :)

You might try a program like "Icon Snatcher" It will find all the icons on your computer with no background.

Another good icon extractor - Icon Scanner ( http://www.iconscanner.com )
