I have a question about the forum.

Does the database keep all threads posted by a member all the way back to when the member joined?

IM looking for a thread and I cant find it.

if not, roughly how much is pruned off the end or how many threads posts are retained???

They're all kept, from day 1, unless they're deleted for being inappropriate in some way

Any search will only return a maximum of 500 results when you're looking for posts and threads by users. If you want to go back past those 500 you can use the advanced search to specify when you want to search.

For example, I found your first post on the forum (http://www.webdeveloper.com/forum/showpost.php?p=531198&postcount=3) by searching for all your posts that are 6 months and older, and arranging them by last posting date in ascending order.

Its not that important what I was looking for but it is important to my findings because theirs an anomaly in the thread historys.

I have noticed an inconsistncy with various members thread historys, the most recent anomaly is in NightShifts history and prior to that pcthug also show same anomaly yet other members thread historys dont show this anomaly.

So either these members hae had their posts manipulted or we have had the datbase hacked for this forum which begs the question SECURITY!

so either these members have had a helping hand with their post count or this forum is not secure? which one is it Joe?

Perhaps if you told us what exactly that anomaly is.

Incidentally, remember that posts to the coffee lounge are not included in a member's post count.
