Question?

I don't even know if this is possible but I've seen sites in where the site logo has pictures that seem to fade into the background. (No I'm not talking about animation) The pictures seem to be on top of the background but yet they are a bit see through like they are faded into the background....I dont know if anyone knows what I mean but is it possible to do this with a picture and if so what program would I need?

The picture is edited using Photoshop and then saved as the background as normal. I have then used a script from DynamicDrive to fix it to the background whilst centred.

If this is not what you meant then it would be good if you could post an example of what you are trying to achieve.
