Hello,

i am completely new to ASP, but i have a good knowledge of PHP and Actionscript, so i know the rules of OOP.
But now i would like to learn ASP too, so i'm looking for a good book. One that doesn't really focus on explaining the basic OOP idea, but one that just teaches me the correct oop syntax of the .NET language.
I've read on amazon that there is a .NET 3.0 out ? is it still usefull to start with 2.0, or is it best to start with the newest version?
It's also important to me that the book uses C# and not visual studio (i don't really know the exact name, but you asp proffesionals must know what i mean ;)

To avoid confusion : i'm not looking for an online tutorial, i really can't learn from my computerscreen, so i really need a real book.

Thanks for your help!

Mic

mic,

When i started I grabbed this book
WROX Professional ASP.NET 2.0

This was a pretty good book to get started with but it did lack examples using code behind (There were some but not as many as i would of liked). In fact several books that i have looked at lack the code behind samples. For the most part all the examples were based on the drag and drop method which i dont prefer.

Other than that i hit the web and googled tons of stuff and i would say i learned more from the web than i did any book.

Google + .net 2.0
