I have agora shopping cart loaded to play around with. I am just learning a bit about shopping carts.

What I am confused about is some websites just display products available and some add the option to buy online eg shopping cart.

Do people create a store front from scratch and add on a shopping cart, or just use a pre-made shopping cart and add on products etc.
How are these things usually created for say just a ordinary small sized shop (eg small bookshop)if you want to be able to order online .

If you are already running an offline shop then all you need is to find a shopping cart script like oscommerce and start adding the produdts to it and host it and start selling online !

Ok where can i fid out a bit more about this.
I have a php/mysql website with a lot of data in tables. I want to add say a link to a table and it goes to a shopping cart option.
I take it doing your own shopping cart with the payment options is difficult and it is easier to add a script and not a whole shopping cart all in 1 product?
