Recommend decent Web Hosting company?

Hi, I am in the process of creating a small CMS system as part of a project at University. However, was hoping to buy some web space to host the site etc - can anyone suggest a good value web hosting company, (vital they provide PHP and MySQL as thats the key point of the project).

I second the crystal tech vote - I've used them for 3 years now (most sites using ASP and MySQL). They have great support and I haven't had any issues that they haven't resolved quickly. I know they support PHP as well.

are you looking for cheap or good. If you don't need much handholding then one of the best is:

for as little as $30 for the first year you get a nice site with your own domain name. they have no content restriction. But almost no customer service. Yet they have been in business about as long as the internet.

i am sure there are other hosts. I also use godaddy, nice account, everything works but they are most intrusive. Yet if you have a problem some one is there in like an hour to fix it and answer your question. Cost, 96 dollars a year plus cost of the domain registration (from 2 to 9 per year).

there is a saying... you get what you pay for. then again don't pay for what you do not need.
