microsoft word problem

Hi Guys,

I have a strange problem with microsoft word in my system. It is word 2003. Whenever I try to save any doc by using save as window, the problem comes when I click on save in drop down list arrow, the file is stucked for around 5 minutes, then only I can use save in browse structure. To avoid this problem I change the name of the file using remane function in explorer. But can anybody suggest wat could be the exact reason for that.

Do you have any mapped network drives? Check that they are all connected and responding, unmap or remap as necessary.

windows will try to access every drive when building the "save-as" list causing it to "hang" if some drives are not available.
