How to upgrade IE

I have been using Opera for years but since 94% of the public uses IE, I guess I should start using it. (From a web design standpoint... I see what they see.)

My IE is 5.0 and I have it on cDROM. Can I upgrade for free? Download it or what?

IE is basically an inferior browser. But, yes, as a web designer, you will want to be able to test your pages on IE 6 (and maybe other versions, if you are able). You should be able to find the lastest version at http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.asp

How is inferior? (I don't doubt you, just want to know. I just try to stay away from MS amap. my gosh they have 94%.

IE does not handle css as good as it should, and well mozilla could beat the heck out of IE if you put them in a boxing ring together. The people use ie of cource but that does not make it a good browser... I like IE but it definatly has points it needs to improve apon. You should look into mozilla though it has some nice features. www.mozilla.org
