I think this is a really huge question, and I am not sure where to post it, (as in, I am not sure which forum thread to post it in). I will be so appreciative of any help, though.

I usually use FrontPage, but I do know a bit of scripting. I am usually a quick learner. I have a website idea, and I need to know how to do two or three huge things.

1. How do I create a series of forms on a page that a user can fill out and then it will automatically post to a new page? For example, when a user creates a profile on here, on MySpace, on a dating site, etc.

2. In the same token, how do I have those forms generate a username and password automatically, like this site just did when I registered?

3. How would I set up an e-mailing system, like is on eBay or something, where when a user creates their profile, the system knows that whatever someone else writes in their form will be forwarded to their real e-mail account or to an e-mail account I have set up without seeing their actual e-mail address?

This is a crazy amount of stuff to learn, I realize, but if you could direct me to a website where I can cram this stuff into my brain over the weekend, that would be great! :-) Any info would help. Thanks, in advance!

Your best bet I think is to use php scripting and have profiles within a mysql database. Im a newb to php but if you ask in the php section of the forum they will be able to give you helpful pointers.

w3 schools is really comprehensive and helpful as well:
