Hey all, I am new to the site, there is so much to read OMG! I have a few sites, one of the sites that I have put the most time into is this one: http://www.im4poker.com
I did most of the work myself by skinning and modding several diff. types of scripts and tying them all together. Some of the art was paid for and some is my own.
I put together all the flash myself from templates I purchased. or from scratch.
Some site features...
Mail system
messenger system
forums
articles
streaming radio
poker room
chat room
arcade
I am fairly proud of what I have built. it's a work in progress and still gets weekly tweaks, Please let me have your opinions :)
Took a while to load -- about 10 sec. for me, using a T1 line. You might streamline your homepage content to enable quicker loading.

Tx for the response. Ya, I forget that I surf from a cable modem that is faster than even t1. It's a member type deal where all that stuff gets cached and loads fast upon next visit but I will have to trim it down some.

Okay. I like your design. Kinda futuristic, really cool. Your navigation is nice, colors are cool and yeah. Nice.
I checked your code. Frames? Not a goo idea. They're not exactly the darling of the web community anymore.
As for the background music, either get rid of it, or set the default to "Off" Automatically playing music is a pain in the butt. NOT what end users want. What if they're in a library or playing music at home?
Now for the main page. I took a look at the code, and it's line after line after line of "what in tarnation is going on here?" No wonder my browser's going slow, this page is sure to give any browser indigestion.
Dude, the best thing I can suggest is this: Figure out what you want your page to look like. Maybe even draw it out. Then code the simplest way to make your page look like that. Your navigation list is a list; not a table. You should use CSS to chop your page up into the appropriate sections. You might have to start from scratch.

Good points. The music channels cookie up and upon next visit the last channel it was on is what it will be again, There is a default off channel up there to use .
As for the frames and nav as a list etc. do you mean these things dont seo well? because I have #1 ranks on several keywords and everything I want to show in search is showing.
The code does need some work, I validated it and there are still some bugs that will have to be converted to css.

Yeah, here it is 10:50 pm. My wife is on the couch sleeping and I'm wasting time until I get tired. I didn't realize my speaker was on. I go to your site and suddenly music is blasting through my speakers. Ahh!!! Close call. I almost woke her up. "Hurry! Close the window," I panic silently.
