Computers and their hardware... - it is my passion :D

This is a website to help first time computer builders pick out the right parts, as well as get into some basic overclocking to get more for their money (this is not finished yet).

Right now is the basic concept, their isn't as much as I'd like up at this time, but you get the idea of what the whole website is about. If you get re-directed to the main page after clicking a link, it means the web page is not yet available.

1. I don't like how the background behind the title is the same as the background behind the body. The bg behind the title should be somewhat distinguishing.

2. There should be some distinction between the link bar on the left and the google ads underneath it.

3. On the pages, the google ads in the body (not left hand side) sort of merge into the text, making the page look unprofessional and hard to read. Again, you need some more distinguishing between ads and text.

4. Nice colors :)

1. Will work on it.

2. Am I violating google policy? I just want it to blend in. I don't think the adverts there are mis-leading as site content. Or are they!?

3. Ok, I changed them to image ads. I didn't think the text ads looked to good myself there.

4. Thanks :)

1. I don't like the font of the links in the upper-right corner (Times New Roman?) -- they don't match with the rest of the page...
2. You used a lot of images where you shouldn't have :), take for example, "Navigation" and "Builds". Those two simple pieces of text could've been recreated with CSS. -- IMHO, even the logo could've been recreated with CSS, not that good but close :).

Other than that, nice job :)

1. I've always sort of had those there as "temporary" links. I'll work on that off line on my pc and see how it looks.

2. I guess you are right. I was fooling around in PS and came up with those. Though I will have to go back and find out exactly what font I used. I'll also work on that and see how that works.

Also, I've added a "Create a Build" section - very basic, nothing too advanced. Should help out people trying to get an idea of what they want, and how much something would cost them.

Next project: getting a real time pricing working.

I'm having trouble with that light blue background #0066CC. I can't seem to find a font color that contrasts well. Maybe try lightening it up a bit a go with a dark blue font?

Check out this site: http://www.snook.ca/technical/colour_contrast/colour.html

It likes #000044 on #88BBFF

Background color #0058B0 (slightly darker than #0066CC) ends up complimenting.

I don't know if I'd want to reverse the background and font at this point, so I think I'll end up slightly darkening the background.

Thanks for that link, very cool - bookmarked.
