Please Review My Site

Hi everyone, could you please review my site, I've dived more into css, SSI, etc, and want to make sure this site is working properly. A friend of mine said the left navigation wasn't working on his computer, though it works fine for me! ( my main nav is an SSI, although it shows up completely when you view source, I'm not totally familier with some of this stuff but I'm learning) Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated!

This is more a design point, but in the pages with large blocks of text it seems very cramped. This is caused by the ratio of the content section to the navigation section. Because the navigation side is so big it doesn't leave room for the real focus of the site. You might be able to fix this by increasing the white margins around the text to give the black text more room to breathe.

The Red/Black color scheme seems very harsh- there's too much contrast so elements compete. Changing the black background around the edges to a gray or a third color (maybe a muted blue or green) would help to enhance the whole prism idea.
