I created a background image for a site in ImageReady...it is 1024 x 768. That is my own screen size..I did the Save Optimized As and choose the Html and Images.
The problem comes in is that either I get a margin on the bottom which I don't want and cannot get rid of or it fills the screen but the logo at the bottom is cut off.
I want the background to fill the whole page and resize for any window size.
I included a sample of what I made so you can see what I mean..hopefully it is viewable..
Please tell me what I should have done.
Any advice would be nice...thanks.

P.S..the image has been decreased..is not original size.

well, try splitting up your image into two sections: one can be for the main section, in which you just need a 1-2px tall strip all the way across...it will insert the picture over and over until it fills the page...then your second section, make it just the logo, and then put it in a <div> at the bottom of the screen...then it shouldnt get cut off, and the background will expand and contract with the screen size...

1024 x 768 is a pretty big image to have. I haven't looked at your image, so I am just hypothesizing right now, but if your image is designed in such a way that ALL of it should be visible on the screen keep the following in mind:
1) Even with a screen res of 1024 x 768, parts of the image will be eaten up by the menubar, location bar, scroll bars, status bars, etc.
2) A viewer who is looking at your screen in 800 x 600 (which according to some reports is still ~ 40% of the internet population) will not be able to see a BIG part of your image.
Of course, if none of the above has anything to do with your image, please completely disregard!

Well..I want to be able to use the entire page for tables and whatnot..also I would like the image to resize no matter what size screen.
This is where I have the troubles..I export from ImageReady using the "HTNL and Images" setting but when I view it in Dreamweaver then the lower part is cut off.
So I don't know how to rectify the problem

Make a new site/document in Dreamweaver and then insert your optimized image(s) rather than openning the html document made by imageready. As mentioned above you may want to scale your image down first to account for the space taken by the scroll bar. If I were you I would make it for 800x600 and slice the image so that the parts without text could expand to fill the screen.

Scale it down to 800 x 600 and slice it..okay.
But then I am restricted to using tables for my content, aren't I?
See..at one point when I used ImageReady I exported HTML and Images and used "Background" as file type..so far so good but when I opened it up in DreamWeaver..I couldn't get rid of all the margins..I did have a scrollbar but the bottom margin was visible.
But..I will try out your suggestion..this may be what I was looking for. Thanks

Okay..I did what was suggested..I reduced the image size to 800 x 600 then sliced it in two...I then saved it for the web as a image...
I made a new page in DreamWeaver and used the "Insert Image" command...looks okay except I got this huge white margin all around and I cannot just type on it now..I have to use tables or layers.
I am missing something here but I am unsure as to what.

Hey..way COOL!!! I wasn't readily aware this could be done on a PC.
Well..I am trying it but I am still having a bit of trouble..so I may try to recreate my background on the new layer in my screenshot because resizing isn't working so well...it isn't a complicated design so starting over is better than fighting with the first image, right?
Thanks a bunch for helping me out..I appreciate it. :D
