The above site is built using the Joomla CMS and various modifictaions including OpenSEF which enables us to totally rewirte the URLs.

The Google Maps extension came out quite well on the Contact US page - http://www.dotcomdevelopment.com/component/option,com_google_maps/Itemid,36/

The site content is from our old site and needs updating. We will keep to a theme of minimal and relevant content. Our prospective clients only really want to know what we do and what we've done and I don't believe they want to read endless case studies and waffly articles for SEO or vanity reasons.

- you might decrease the size of your banner to pull more of your content upwards; there seems to be a lot of wasted space in the top 50% of the initial screen view

I agree about the spacing.

The coding error thing is subjective. Try validating the BBC or Apple.com. The failed validation is mainly due to having to use a strict doctype for Google maps. I'll have a look if I can be bothered, or I feel that prospective clients actually care. It's not like Internet Explorer has ever bothered with anything W3C related.
