Not able to access my computer!

Hi. Hope someone can help me (please) :( It's a long story but This is short: My Compuer was acting up for while (Windows kept closing - I E kept closing - Windows updates was playing up - Computer shut down by itself - etc...)

And now I can't access any files - in fact When I start my computer I get the screen where it says (within so seconds) start up in : Safe Mode - Normal Mode etc - I have clicked all of them and been taken to the same screen -
it's a blue screen with white text - saying that "Windows has detected a problem and needs to shut down your computer to prevent further problems" and that's that!

I can't get into my computer (this is my Wifes).
I have got lots of information I need on my hard drive - how can I access it if I can't get passed Windows Start up??

I have tried several times and still I keep ending up on the Blue Page.

Any help would be really appreciated.

Its either a software problem caused by microsoft updates (recent common one with ms office corrupted update) and/or a hardware problem

When you boot up the computer and that blue screen comes on it will say a file (eg.bcmwl5.sys) and then a stop code (eg: 0x001f22500, 0x00221e000, 0x0000000) ... write both down of these and post them back in here ... that will help us point you towards what the problem is

Thank You wh666-666. You are right - The last time I turned on my Computer it did come up with some codes ( 0000-00 ????-?? ) can't remember what they were right now but when I check again I will post them. (Still using my Wifes).

My Son thinks it could be the Windows XP I bought (off the market), it was sealed and everything, but he thinks it may have been registered by more than one user ? and Microsoft have found out because of the automatic updates?

Anyway I will write those codes down when my Son has put the Computer back together, so thank's again wh666-666.
