Hello,
I am just beginning to search for online courses to begin my education. I've been unable to find an unbiased review of what the web has to offer. Can anyone recommend an online course or school to check out or even maybe avoid? I want to start by designing a site for my band, my photography, and a retail store. I'm experienced in Photoshop and digital photography and would like to eventually offer design services to local businesses. Thanks for any help you can give.

I've never taken any of those courses in my life, nor will I. They're a total waste in my opinion.

You can try w3 schools. Its free and there are good tutorials for all kinds of coding. As stephen said alot of courses like this that you pay for are worthless like computeach.

Depending on your location you can obtain degrees through distance learning. In the UK you can get a degree or certification for general computing through the open university which is distance learning. Not strictly related to web development it will teach you things like networking, etc etc depending on which course you choose. This is a bonus along with learning different forms of scripting.

One of the best ways, if you go professional in the future is to create an online profile. This lets potential customers see your skills and is far more valuable than a piece of paper.
