I have my web server setup to host both my www. or no-www site. Meaning, that I don't have to worry about users forgetting the www.

Is this a bad thing? Should I only have www. and then all non-www connections are redirected using a 301 redirect to my www.?

Ah, makes sense now. It doesn't matter.

I should have know this since I do networking!!

www. is a subdomain which resides on port 80 and thus translates the domain to be accessible!!

However, that is no longer the case!
