Can we use articles as a content of the website? Some say that it might result in google ban. Some say articles with good content are SEO friendly and thus it can be used. Any ideas?

Are they going to be unique articles ? Those articles should not be found anywhere else. Then please proceed since google will in fact reward you. Also make sure that those articles follow your general theme of your website.
