HI, this is basic, I am sure, but I am trying to put some website tracking javascript on my site and am not sure which area is considered the root directory of my site. The host shows some files in the first level directory which also holds the website name (folder which contains all of my website files). On my computer, I would presume the root directory to be the main folder containing my index and all other web pages. But on the server all of that is within another folder. So which is the root directory?

If this is just a javascript tracker, you put it in the same folder as your homepage.

Ya, this thing collects data on traffic, although I have yet to see any results. Even though that is were I put it, it has not been working and I thought that maybe I put it in the wrong place. I will have to take another look at this to see what I can find. Thanks for the reply, DWS

I suggest you look into Google Analytics: http://www.google.com/analytics/

You'll have to put a little piece of javascript on each page, but it's worth it. The service provides just about everything you can think of. :)
