Does anyone know of a software that will help create roads, houses and landscaping with a 3D look (not interactive 3D)? I want to superimpose drawings of new house designs onto old design easily and quickly. It is for the web so the quality doesn't have to be perfect. I work on houses, roads, and landscaping projects too.

I'd suggest 3Dstudio max 4 or 5. There's is a function where you can put a scan or any image in the background and then create your 3d over that and use the scan as a guide.

Glad to help, 3dsmax isn't all that simple though.

There are support sites however:

http://www.maxforums.org/

One problem with 3ds Max is, it's exteemly expensive, especially if you only want a 3d look, and not interactivity in 3d. What you should really look at is ZBrush. You can get a free demo, there's a very usefull forum(www.pixolator.com), and it's easy enough to learn. You can look at it at www.pixologic.com.
