Hi. I am designing my first website and making plenty of mistakes along the way. I started using FP then changes to Dreamweaver, Instead of using a Dynamic Web Template I tried to create each page.. but as the website grows this is becoming too much work when applying changes. The site has 5 sections with a similar layout, the only difference the colour scheme and buttons shown. I realise now that i should have probably created 5 DWT's so that when i made a change, it would save me editing every single page in each section. Does anyone know how easy this would be to apply now that i am fairly advanced in the websites development, is there any pitfalls to avoid, anything else ive not thought about.

Also I know there is a feature in DW that allows you to find and replace pages ie if i was to change a page filename i could redirect the links automatically instead of doing it all manually.. i cant seem find this feature.. please help!

It sounds almost like server side includes would have served you a lot better actually.

I know Expression Web offers the use of multiple DWTs. I did a quick search on Dreamweaver's help for multiple DWT and nothing unfortunately came up. There are a few Dreamweaver forums that might be better for this question if no one else can help with this.

If you change the link's name within the Site manager console, the links will be updated for you, meaning that all the link's using the file's "old" name would be automatically changed to the "new" name without redirection.
