Simple Search Facility?

Hi ppl,
I am in need of a simple search engine to use on an intranet. There are a couple of things that make this request tricky though.
1) It cannot use scripting languages such as perl because it is not on a server, but rather a networked drive that users access.
2) I cannot use any of the premade searches from the liek sof Google as we do not have internet access.

So basically, I need a very simple search engine that I can add stuff to manually (maybe xml?).

No Internet Access eh... that's gotta be rough in today's world.

You should still be able to use google desktop search... it'll do mapped network drives just fine. Plus it doesn't need to be connected to the Internet to work.

you just need to install it on every PC.
