Anyone know good forums that are free or even no? That are fully customizable besides eZboard. My server doesnt have capabilites for PHP so I canot create my own. Also for a guestbook, I use to have one that was from a diffrent country and was great, you could as Admin be the only one that can see the ips and ban them, and it had little or no advertisements on them. Any help on either of these would be greatly appreciated.

There are still plenty of forums that will run on a Flat file DB and not need PHP.

Frankly thou you should consider moving hosts if they cannot or will not supply you with PHP, IT's FREEEEEEEE gesh.

If cost is an issue to moving to another host please say so and I'm sure somone will be able to list more options than you could think of...

Well then you have to accept the fact your not getting your money's worth.

could you do us a favor and list your host and your plan details?

I agree with Pete. PHP is not a big deal to install or maintain (I have it installed on my computer for testing...), so why not just add it as a feature? I'd also be interested in hearing the hosts price/features... It's quite possibly time for a new host.

well how would i install PHP on my sever, is it a file I just upload? I use geocities pro. its 8.95 for 200 MB and 10,000 megs bandwith

You can't install it on the server unless have access to the box the server is installed on.

Drop Geocities. You can get MUCH better deals elsewhere. I personally use and recommend http://www.dr2.net. Their value plan is $40/year (a little over $3/month) and includeds 200 MB of space and 5GB transfer. Also, this server has a great PHP install, unlimited mySQL databases, CPanel 6, Perl, and much more...

geocities is a horrible host, when hosts get that big you loose a lot of service. Even their free hosting is a rip off, with the number of ads the toss on your site its just horrible.

I would also leave geocities.
Actually DR2 is running a sale right now.
You could get a domain name, 150MB of space, 5GB transfer per MONTH, and a PREINSTALLED forum for $30/year. It includes almost all popular languages such as PHP and CGI and the support is waaay better than geocities. With dr2 just drop your question on the message board and another user or tech support will respond within a few hours.

I need to find a host that allows me to turn a proffit on my site and I needs to offer asp.net hosting. I have been looking at hosts and none of them are as cheap as yours... the down side of using microsoft technology, apache is free windows 2k3 isnt.
