I need to upload a web page somehow without using Geocities.
I don't have my website up yet, & I'm still trying to figure out css.
The page I uploaded didn't show my styles, so I'm not sure what/how to get a page up without paying an ISP for services.
Is this possible?
Geocities works well, but because of the placement of their ads, it won't show the footer problem I'm having.
Please help! :)

www.awardspace.com
or
www.sitesled.com
Set up a FREE account, -they have 200-MB space for FREE, with NO ADS.
Get your account set up, come back & talk to us. :)
Yeah... geocities is kinda not nice with the ads, huh?

i like this from sitesled.com 'Uploaded Flies Are Immediately Available' Yeah that's true. I think once I waited for like an hour or more before changes I made to a site on awardspace were available. -I was about to re-write the page, -but it was late and I decided to do it the next day, and surfed instead. -Must have been a high-traffic day or something, -everything seemed 'slow' that night...
An hour+ later just for giggles, checked the awardspace-hosted site and the 'updated page' was then present...

Of course, if you just need the files somewhere for testing purposes, you could always install either IIS or Apache and use your regular PC as you test server. I do this all the time with my php files so that I can verify that they work before uploading to my real site.

I signed up to awardspace last night.
Made a folder in the subdomain, but then got stuck with the ftp part.
I added "FireFTP", but haven't figured out how to send my file there yet.
It got late. I'm running out the door now, so I'll try later.
I might also give sitesled.com a try.
Thanks again for all your help! :o

I used Mozilla's FireFTP add-on.
At awardspace.com, I had to delete the blank index.html file and rename my own file to index.html and it worked!
I also uploaded my .css and .jpg files.
THanks so much. :) :)
