Ok, I don't know if this has already been answered, as I'm sure it has, so I'm sorry if I didn't look hard enough, but I need help (don't we all in some way?).

I have been fooling around with bg music for my site, and nothing seems to work. I have been pulling music off of cut and paste sites and that usually works, but I'm sick of going thru all of that. Is there a way that I can do that myself without dealing with other sites? Thanks in advance.

Peace,
Beefy

Yeah, I guess that's what I need. This is what happened. I had a song on my site from a cut and paste web site that had their songs in their ftp, and everytime someone went to my site the song uploaded from their site and played. Since then they got rid of their ftp space meaning the song isn't there any more, and I wanted a song for my site. I've searched thru other sites and found one, but of course they didn't have the song I wanted, so this is why I want to know how to do it myself and just forget about the other places. I'll try this and see if it works. Thanks again!

Peace,
Beefy

The reason I say think is, I know it works when I view my webpage, but I'm just guessing it works when others view it. If you would like to check it out, please feel free to do so. Thanks a million!

Ok, so I can hear the music, but others visiting my site can't. That was the whole point of having it on there. Can you help?

<p align=center><font size=1><span style=background:white><a href="http://www.geocities.com/songs4search/index.html">CLICK HERE FOR MUSIC</a></span><embed align="top" src="http://www.geocities.com/songs4search/ACDC_backinblack.ram"
width="150" height="50" type="audio/x-pn-realaudio-plugin" loop="</htpdiv" autostart="true" controls="all" border="0">

That is what I used to use. This one doesn't work anymore. It makes a cool little juke box with the song in it, and people visiting the site can hear the song. The one you offered, though it worked well for me, doesn't work for anyone else. If you could show me how to do this for myself, that would be great. I've already tried.

you are using a real player format for one meaning your embedding a real palyer and real player sucks... use a .mp3 or something and embed a media player just because real sucks and I hate them. loop="</htpdiv" what the heck is that?

LOL, yeah I hate real player too. I don't know what that is, I guess that's what makes the song loop. Ok, so that sounds good and all, but how do I do it? I'm almost an idiot when it comes to this stuff if you couldn't tell.

Instead of putting that thing loop="</htpdiv" try putting loop="true" that will make it loop or loop="flase" it will only play one time

You did mean "false", right? Ok, that's fine. That's not what's making it not work though. It's her database that she had. She had her song stuck in her ftp, and she closed it out, therefore getting rid of the song, but the code is still there. Since it doesn't have anything to read off of, it won't play. I want to know how do I configure a code like that for myself, so that I can put it on my site, and not have to worry about it. Here is a link to the site where I got it from, there are many others like it.

That's not where I got that code from, the other is at an angelfire site, and it's always "Temporarily Unavailable". This site works, and you can get songs off of it to play on your own site. Try it out, see what it's like. But I want to know if I can do that. Not the site of course, just play music from my own files on my site without dealing with the other sites. Thanks again for everything.

Just upload a song on your server and mod the path

Ok, I've tried everything, and nothing seems to work. So I'm just giving up now. Thanks for all of your help though.

I've been working at this for at least 5 months now. I don't call that quitting, I call that putting in over time and getting a vacation now. It's not that important that it should be on there anyway, and I don't spend all of my time working on it like I used to anymore because I don't have that kind of time anymore. It's no big deal. But I am not a quitter by any means.
