So I decided to try Dreamweaver CS3, and I feel rather disappointed after just 5 minutes of using it. First it took it like 10 minutes to install (in comparison DW8 installs for less than a minute, for me at least). Then when I started it up, and opened up one of my files to work on it, I noticed the system was very sluggish. I checked task manager and holy jesus DW CS3 was using up 84% CPU and 150MB RAM on IDLE!

Overall, I am disappointed with Adobe. After checking the documentation about the new features, I feel even more disappointed. There is nothing new that will be of real use (those of you reading and are thinking about trying to defend the new AJAX framework integration, don't. I'm not gonna use it, and chances are 99% of everyone else who buys DW CS3 will not use it either, therefore, I call it useless). I was hopping for better .net integration, but that also didn't happen.

Anyway, if you've tried it, what were your thoughts?

I'm uninstalling it and going back to 8.

At this time I'm passing on the whole CS3 Suite...

Just from what I've seen, read, and thinking back to that it just wasn't that long ago they hit me up for the last upgrade... at Least Microsoft waits a good couple years and really makes an effort into improving the interface of the office applications.

The only reason I think I would move to CS3 is if between Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign the way certain things are done become standardized. Things like how you select text, dynamic spelling and color picking. however those are all beefs I have with the old core adobe apps.

But I'm just not sure if I'm ready to shell out 600.00 for that this year... EXCEPT there is some saving now that Adobe owns Dreamweaver so that is a plus!
