disabling multiple submits

I used the script from this page http://javascript.internet.com/forms/submit-once-for-frontpage.html and it looks great. Problem is, I have an input type of image and can't seem to disable it upon submission. Any suggestions?

Do you have this uploaded somewhere? If so, please post a link. I have no idea what the problem is, but I'm sure I or someone else could fix it if we had a working example...
