I've been using Vista now for about 3 months. it's the best Windows yet and imho is far superior to OS X.

Vista should have integrated applications into it's command bar. It already integrated cd burning functions into it.

What I envision:

Open a folder. If there's an mp3 file, you can play it in the new smart bar. If it's a picture file, it will open in that explorer window, and the picture will fill the entire window. Hit the back key and you will go back. If it's a document file, it will fill up that entire explorer window.

That would have made windows management much easier I think than launching full-blown applications in new windows with each file.

But the plugins needed would take up more resources when your just looking through your files or moving them around, and launching an application only puts a load on your comp when you need it.

(Why is your test red? also, sage.)

Nah, Konqueror does all that and doesn't take up much resources. The only flaw I see in this idea is that you'd have to be using Windows, Vista at that.

I only figured out why Linux is such a better OS than windows recently.

MS's source is only available to them, so only they get to decide what's good and bad. Linux's code is available to everyone, so everyone can point out/fix flaws, bugs, and rewrite code to make it more efficient.
MS wants to fuel the need for more comps, so the requirements are higher and higher each release. The Linux community wants the code to run as fast as possible on every machine, so they don't need to buy a new comp to update their OS.
tl:dr;
MS is for the company, Linux is for the people.
