mysterious white space below searchbox

I am trying to insert a searchbox, linked to an external page, in my webpage. however, a mysterious white space keeps appearing, no matter how the searchbox is framed.

Lol narrow it down to 300 some possible problems.

Try removing the <p> tag. You really should work on the layout. Use CSS and not ugly, ugly tables.
