What are your opinions on disallowing curse words in user-submitted content if the user is paying to put their information on my Web site? I want the Web site to remain clean and not turn into bunch of curse/porn words, ya know?

Thanks

That's really all up to you and the type of site you're running. If you'd rather it stay clean, disallow everything. If it is an intelligent, sophisticated bunch of peeps chances are the profanities will be at a minimum. If they are rednecks then disallow all that stuff.

Just give a content statement they must check before creating their paying account. Saying no "this" and no "that".

And also keep in mind some sites remain wildly popular with all of their vulgar content left intact.

You'll make the right choice.

Even though you pay to eat in a restaurant, this doesn't allow you to act as you please in polite company. Post the rules and tell them to follow the rules or leave.

I have updated my signature with the link to the application that this was in reference to. I don't want to spam because I am selling a service so please note this.

I have decided to filter out some words when trying to add a link. I just convert some words to asterisks and inform them the user they can submit the asterisks or choose another word.

Thanks all.
