I maintain a website for a small company. They would like to sell one of their products on the site. Since it would be a one pager, do I need a shopping cart or will an online order form be sufficient? Here is page/product - http://www.sigmaservices.com/colorflames.htm

I don't have all details yet (shipping costs differ or one lump sum, etc), but they would like the customer to be able to enter credit card information, and staff would then receive email with order details.

I know I can do it with a form, but what about securing the page/form? What else am I missing? Any suggestions or reading material on this would be greatly appreciated.

You should probably get an SSL (secure socket layer) certificate for your website.

As to the form, if you're anticipating growth, go ahead and jump into an ecommerce system. There are lots of open source ones around, such as ZenCart, that you can use for free.

Take a look at this website: http://www.practicalecommerce.com/topic/17/Shopping-Carts--Online-Payments/
It might have some info. to help you. :)
