i (and i know others have as well) found the forum through the javascript source. some come here by word of mouth. others come through other channels of advertising and partnership. how did you come here? you probably weren't the only one.

I think I got here through google, read a few threads, mostly about how tables were evil.

I first thought there was just a bunch of arrogant web developers that thought anyone using methods not as 'cool' as theirs were inferior human beings.

I almost said something about that, but decided I better learn a little bit before opening my mouth, so I read, and read, and read some more.

My conclusion was that the people here are very knowledgeable and go out of their way to help anyone.

This place and people have helped me immensely, if you are interested in learning and getting help, you will bookmark this forum :).

I found javascript.internet.com through either google or yahoo and I found these forums through javascript.internet.com.

I don't seem to remember when I switched to google.

Jupitermedia Corporation

but, which admin is it?

buntine

Well, the corporation owns it... So (I would assume) none of the Admins could claim true ownership over the forums!

You can find all that information at the bottom of the home page (http://www.webdeveloper.com/forum/index.php).

How did you all get to be admins if there wasn't a admin in the first place to promote you to admin!  :p

LeeU
06-21-2007, 02:56 PM
Well, it all started in a land far, far away ... whoops, wrong story. In the beginning, there were no admins ... whoops, sorry again. ;->

I'm pretty sure that when Jupitermedia started it, whoever was appointed in charge of the forums then appointed admins. Why is it that important?

I was Google searching Dell versus HP discussions, and I found the one here! I decided to register so I could debate Dell versus HP myself. Then I ventured in to all the other threads here. However the most popular forum that I know of of ffdowloads.com. There are 1,182 pages of members there. That site uses vBulletin just like it does here so many things are similar with the interface. That's not as many as here; there are twice as many here I think. I'm subscribed to the same amount of threads here as I am there. However the people there are really... I don't know what the correct word to use is... fast? For every ten notifications of a post to a subscribed thread I get from there, I only get one from here. That's why I've been less active here lately- I've been forgetting!
